About Isiah Beauchamp
Isiah is the Founder and CEO of TruChampions. He started the business in May 2016 with the idea to help students with the high school sports recruiting process. He was involved in coaching high school basketball since 2011 in the state of Michigan.
About Jimmy King
Jimmy King is a native of South Bend, Indiana who moved to Texas at the age of 5. Growing up in Plano, TX he honed his academic and athletic prowess to become a highly recruited student-athlete at the University of Michigan. He was drafted by the Toronto Raptors in its inaugural season where he has garnered the highest monitory contract in NBA history. After a 10 year successful career as a professional basketball player, Jimmy went to work as a financial adviser for Merrill Lynch. It was there that he gained the skills needed to organize, design, and execute strategic financial plans. Over the last 20 years, he has spent much of his time working with non-profit organizations that mentor youths in the Detroit area.
Jimmy is part owner and Vice President of TruChampions, a national education and sports recruiting service, providing comprehensive consultation for college admissions and applications, tutoring, coaching, and ACT/SAT preparation.
Jimmy is an alum of the University of Michigan, majored in Communications, and lettered in men’s basketball, where he appeared in the NCAA Championship in 1992 and 1993.
He remains active in the community by serving on the Board of the Letter Winners M-Club and on the Finance and Facilities Committee. He also supports the Abayomi Community Development Corporation as a coach and serves as a board member of the National Basketball Retired Players Association, Detroit Chapter.
Jimmy resides in Birmingham, Michigan with his three children Jalen, Madison, and Malcolm. He enjoys spending time with his family, exercising, and moonlighting as an analyst for collegiate and professional basketball.

About Melissa Hunt-Sampey
Melissa is the Marketing and Sales Manager at TruChampions. She has been working in the marketing arena for more than 15 years with a proven track record of driving results and delivering innovation in both the traditional and digital marketing arenas.
She started her career in Radio at WDRQ- 93.1 on the Jay Towers and the Morning Revolution show. Then went on to do news, traffic and weather at WAAM in Ann Arbor as well as freelance voice-over work for large National clients.
Melissa is well-versed in areas such as branding, media planning and buying, content development, social media, digital marketing/communications strategy, development, and strategic PR (offline, relationship-based, community-driven, ambush, guerrilla, and social media).She has also managed and promoted celebrity appearances, grand openings, product launches, and planned successful fundraising events.
Melissa holds a certificate in Electronic Media and Radio from Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts in Southfield and a proud graduate of Eastern Michigan University where she received a Bachelors of Science in Public Relations & Radio and TV.
Melissa is a member of PRSA Detroit, Michigan Society for Healthcare Planning & Marketing, and Women in Communications and on sits on the fundraising board at the St Louis Center, home for the mental and physically disabled. She previously served on the Alumni Board of Directors at Eastern Michigan University.
About Jason Heien
Jason Heien is a US Navy Veteran that has always had a keen eye for art and technology. Jason has been designing and developing websites for over 20 years. Heien has worked as a Systems Engineer, Application Engineer, and Senior Web Developer on marketing teams for several large brands in the Metro Detroit Area. Since he turned his hobby into a career. He has been a techie before there was the label of ‘techie’, uses his military leadership and troubleshooting skills to help realize business goals through design, development, and automation.
About Ashley McNabb
Ashley is the Marketing Analyst at TruChampions. She has several years of experience in various marketing positions ranging from small, start-up companies to corporate giants to medium-sized agencies. Her strengths include social media marketing, identifying and capitalizing on digital go-to-market strategies, lead generation, analyzing performance metrics, brand and content development, and customer relationship management.
Ashley graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Supply Chain Management in 2016 and has since received two Master’s degrees– Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications– in 2019. Ashley also serves on the committee at the Downriver Career Technical Consortium (DCTC), which combines academics with career and technical education to prepare high school students for college and/or a highly skilled career.
